| As of February 14, 2022, the Mongolian government has lifted health restrictions for entry into Mongolia. There is no requirement for COVID-19 vaccination. Travelers only need to present either: A negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure, or A recovery certificate issued within the last 4 months if previously tested positive There is no mandatory testing upon arrival and no internal restrictions within the country. Children aged 0–4 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test. How to obtain a Mongolian visa? (2 options) 1. Electronic Visa (e-Visa): Mongolia has introduced an e-visa system via www.evisa.mn, allowing citizens of 36 listed countries to apply online for visas valid up to 30 days (or 10 days for transit visas). You are eligible if: You are a citizen of France, Spain, or Portugal You are traveling for tourism (K2) You are participating in cultural or sports events, competitions, or creating films/content (K4) You are transiting to another country (K6) These visas can now be requested online. Your visa will be sent by email within 72 hours and will allow you to enter Mongolia. The list of eligible countries and applications can be found at: www.evisa.mn You can also apply directly through the Mongolian Embassy in France. Note: As the e-visa system is relatively new, some technical issues may occasionally occur. 2. Visa through the Embassy: The Embassy can issue a single-entry tourist visa (category K2) valid for 30 days. This can be extended once in Mongolia for an additional 30 days, allowing a maximum stay of 60 days without requiring special authorization or an invitation. IMPORTANT: Some travelers may be required to leave the country and reapply for a visa if they enter with a tourist visa expecting to convert it into a long-term visa or residence permit.
