Overview
The Naadam Festival is dedicated to celebrating the independence of Mongolia through traditional nomadic sports competitions. It is a vibrant and distinctive celebration where you can take part in the morning opening ceremony.
Although Naadam is celebrated throughout Mongolia, the opening ceremony held in the main stadium of Ulaanbaatar is the largest and most impressive of all. It offers a unique opportunity to enjoy, in a friendly and festive atmosphere, the traditional horse races, archery contests, and Mongolian wrestling—whose movements mimic the flight of an eagle—while also discovering parades, national cuisine, and local handicrafts. An unforgettable folkloric experience, Naadam is recognized as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
